Developer: Solely responsible for development and
maintainance of system software in use at Academic Computing Services
primarily on:
Prime 6650
Supermini-computer.  Over the last 5 years I've developed the
following major pieces of software for our Prime: e-mail, finger
client, finger server (no longer in use), gopher client, NNTP
newsreader.  I have also been responsible for improving the SMTP
phantom.
Sun Workstation Lab.  Developed account management tools (create
and destroy accounts, manage NIS+ tables), system administration aids,
and WWW programs (CGI scripts, and Java Applets)System Administrator:
Solely responsible for all aspects of operating Sun Workstation
Lab. 
Compile, install, and maintain numerous software packages in
use such as GNU C/C++, GNU Emacs, Perl, Mathematica, NCSA's httpd,
Mosaic, Hytelnet, Lynx, Gopher, Tin, Pine, and Inn.
Monitor and maintain Unix network (25 Sun
 workstations, 2 File servers, 4 printers).  The Unix network
supports about 600 students and faculty users per semester.
Oversee operation of TCP/IP services (
WWW server,
 Gopher server,
 Anonymous FTP site,
 e-mail services,
 NFS,
 News server and 
 NNTP)
Assist daily operations of Prime 6650.  My involvement has
included: creating new accounts, training students to perform system
backups, writing and editing documentation (user documentation, system
policies and procedures, disaster planning and recovery documents).
Assist in daily operations for Novell 4.1 Lans (3 Servers, 150
clients)
On call 24 hours a day, 7-days a week in case of problems with
the operations of Academic Computing Services systems.
Campus-Wide support person for Unix system questions.
Currently available to help Computer Science, Earth Science, the
Library, and Physics department in operation of UNIX hosts.
